Chef Alfio Gulisano grew up between two worlds—Italian heritage at home and Argentine fire in the streets of Mendoza.
His cooking reflects that blend: bold flavors, handmade everything, and a deep respect for tradition, with just enough rebellion to keep it interesting.
After years of cooking in top kitchens, he opened Alfio’s Buon Cibo in 2012 with one goal: serve food that actually means something.

Twelve years later, the mission hasn’t changed.
We still roll the pasta by hand. We still let the wine speak.
And most nights, you’ll still find Chef Alfio in the kitchen—because this place is personal.

At last year’s Taste of Cincinnati, Alfio’s Buon Cibo took home Best Entrée for our slow-braised short ribs over gnocchi in a truffle and spinach cream sauce—plus a Bronze Medal for our Korean BBQ Empanada.

It was an honor, but it’s just the kind of food we’ve been serving for over a decade. Thoughtful, bold, and made to be remembered.
